How the time slider works
Each appendix carries a number of effective dates — the dates on which a Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules came into force. Stepping back in time gives you the rule text as it stood on that date. Stepping forward shows you each successive amendment. The diff and annotation toggles let you see exactly which words were added, removed, or substituted between versions — useful for advising on cases governed by an earlier version of a rule, or for tracing how a particular requirement has evolved.
